Council Member Mathieu Eugene Brings Affordable Housing to District 40

  • Council Member Mathieu Eugene has worked with the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, non-profit organizations, and other allies to secure funding and support several affordable and supportive housing developments in District 40, leading to the creation of over 800 units of truly affordable housing, some of which is available to families earning less than $30,000 per year.


  • As a city council member, Mathieu Eugene is always on the lookout for opportunities to create and preserve affordable housing, and believes that the city should leverage its resources to ensure that new developments include units that are truly affordable to those already living in the neighborhood.


  •  Council Member Mathieu Eugene has been an advocate for tenants, in collaboration with non-profit legal service providers, and other advocacy organizations, his office provides assistance to tenants struggling with abusive landlords, illegal rent raises, and unlawful evictions.
